Description | Zembra is a rocky island located in the northeastern Gulf of Tunis.Located 15 kilometers from Sidi Daoud and 55 kilometers from the port of La Goulette, it represents a natural extension of the peninsula of Cap Bon. Its area is 389 hectares.The Zembretta island, located about 5 km to the east, an area of ??two hectares. With a specific and rather fragile ecosystem, the island of Zembra is classified by Unesco since January 1977 as a protected area. National Park which includes the two islands was created by presidential decree of 1 April 1977.Zembra National Park is characterized by a vegetation cover in the form of dense scrub and the presence of rare plants. |
